Attention: If you have already submitted an application from 1 July 2023 to present day, you will need to wait for 1 July 2024 for 2024-25 round.

Applications open from July 1 2023 - 31 May 2024

Important Notes before applying:

  • If you have previously applied for a rural grant, please use existing log in details instead of creating a new account, this helps our team manage and monitor our grants

  • Read the eligibility criteria and RLMG Guidelines

  • The grant is only eligible to apply once per annum (financial year), if you’re unsure of your application status or whether you've applied, please email the Rural Environment Team on ruralenvironment@hume.vic.gov.au

  • It can take up to two months to receive payment.

Eligibility

  1. Property is within Green Wedge, Green wedge A, Rural Living and farming zones
  2. Property is 0.4 hectares in size or greater
  3. Evidence of satisfactory land management can be demonstrated
  4. Landowners who do not receive the Conserving our Rural Environment grant and the Primary Producer Rate Rebate

Aim of grant

The aim of the RLMG is to provide sustainable landowners or managers with the support and incentive to conduct land management activities across their property. The grant is offered at $300 per property plus $20 per hectare. The RLMG is provided in the form of a reimbursement to the landowner via cheque or bank transfer following submission and approval of an annual application form.

The grant program is offered on a competitive basis as there is a limited pool of funding and, as a result, some eligible applicants may not receive the grant. There is cap of $2,000 of grant funding per property per year.

Hint: also check the email hasn't landed in your spam or junk email folder.

ATTACHMENTS AND SUPPORT DOCUMENTS

You may need to upload/submit attachments to support your application. This is very simple, but requires you to have the documents saved on your computer, or on a storage device.

You need to allow enough time for each file to upload before trying to attach another file. Files can be up to 25MB each; however, we do recommend trying to keep files to a maximum of 5MB – the larger the file, the longer the upload time.

COMPLETING AN APPLICATION IN A GROUP/TEAM

A number of people can work on an application using the same log in details as long as only one person is working at a time. Ensure you save as you go.

SPELL CHECK

Most internet browsers (including Firefox v2.0 and above; Safari; and Google Chrome) have spell checking facilities built in – you can switch this function on or off by adjusting your browser settings.
