Thank you for interest in the Rural Land Management Grant (RLMG) for 2026-27. Applications are open from 1 July 2026 - 31 May 2027
Important Information – Please Read Before Starting Your Application
All Rural Land Management Grant payments are made by Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT). As part of your online application, you must upload independent proof of your bank account name, BSB and account number. This requires you to have the documents saved on your computer, or on a storage device.
Accepted documents include:
- A copy of a bank deposit slip, or
- An excerpt from a bank statement (please ensure no balances or transaction details are visible).
Please note: Bank account details will not be accepted if they are provided on a tax invoice, a letter, or within the body of an email.
Important Notes before applying:
- If you have previously applied for any rural grant, please use existing log in detail instead of creating a new account, this helps our team manage and monitor our grants
- Are you leasing or managing property on behalf of a landowner? You must provide written consent from the landowner with your application to be eligible for the RLMG
- If you apply for RLMG, you will not be eligible for the Primary Producer Rate Rebate or the Conserving our Rural Environment Grant
- Read the eligibility criteria listed below
- The grant is only eligible to apply once per year (financial year), if you’re unsure of your application status or whether you've applied, please email the Rural Environment Team on ruralenvironment@hume.vic.gov.au
- It can take up to two months to receive payment from date of approval
Eligibility
- Property is within Green Wedge, Green wedge A, Rural Living and farming zones
- Property is 0.4 hectares in size or greater
- Evidence of satisfactory land management can be demonstrated
- Landowners who do not receive the Conserving our Rural Environment grant and the Primary Producer Rate Rebate
Aim of grant
The aim of the RLMG is to provide sustainable landowners or managers with the support and incentive to conduct land management activities across their property. The grant is offered at $300 per property plus $20 per hectare. The RLMG is provided in the form of a reimbursement to the landowner via bank transfer following submission and approval of an annual application form.
The grant program is offered on a competitive basis as there is a limited pool of funding and, as a result, some eligible applicants may not receive the grant. There is cap of $2,000 of grant funding per property per year.
